Hey Loves! F & J here!
Christmas is this Friday! How is that even possible? We are not even in the Christmas spirit yet and haven't gotten a chance to sit down and watch our favorite holiday movies like ELF, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
We work as nannies as some of you may know and have lots of little kids and people in our lives that we need to figure out gifts for. We have been working so much that we needed to think of some quick and easy ideas that are cute and thoughtful and don't break the bank. So we have put together a list of our favorite go-to items that we are giving out this year.
No Sew Blankets
These are probably the most time consuming and expensive, however we found that fleece always seems to be on good sale and it gives a big gift that everyone seems to love. Its pretty simple all you need is two pieces of fleece, about two yards of each. Then you lie them on top of each other. Then cut out a 1.5 inch x 1.5 inch square on each corner, next make about 1.5 inch slits around the whole blanket, and tie them together. It's super easy we promise. These are pretty cool because you can customize them to what each person likes, which allows it to be a good gift for any age.
Cookies
These are pretty simple, but just about everyone loves to receive and eat cookies. Homemade ones are always the most thoughtful, but if you are pressed on time, or not a master chef, packaged ones do the trick. It's super easy to just pop them in the oven. It's nice if you serve them on a cheap holiday plate that the person can keep, and tie it up with a ribbon, It seems more thoughtful and sweet.
Candy Filled Ornaments
It's super easy to get giant clear glass ornaments at your local craft store and they are so cheap. We wash ours out to be safe and then let them dry (super important) then fill with your favorite small candy. Just make sure it will fit through the top.
Homemade Scrubs
Take equal parts of sugar and coconut oil, and mix them in a big bowl, then add 10 drops of your favorite scented oil (we used peppermint oil and vanilla), then put in a mason jar and garnish with a ribbon, for a quick and adorable gift.
Hot Cocoa Kit
This one is pretty simple. We took our favorite peppermint hot cocoa mix put in it in a mason jar. Then made chocolate stir spoons by dipping plastic spoons in melted chocolate, topping them with crushed candy canes, and setting them on wax paper to harden. We threw them into a nice basket with some candy canes and made an adorable set.
We added cute little ornaments on the top of all our presents to look more personal, and add a little something extra. We are guilty of hitting the dollar store and picking up little things to add as well, it makes the gifts look bigger without hurting our wallets.
Just remember that Christmas is the time we give, but its not about the gift it is about showing your appreciation for the ones you love. Sorry about the lack of photos, because they are so quick and easy we forgot to snap some pictures before we gifted them all!
Love,
F & J
