Coffee & Sunshine

Hey Loves, F & J here!

We mentioned in an earlier post that we were going to start a summer bucket list. The number one thing on the bucket list was to try the cute little ice cream shop on the waterfront. We have always walked past it, and wanted to try it, so today we did. It was sunny and beautiful out, and what better way to beat the heat then a scoop of ice cream, and that is what we did.
Being the Seattle girls we are, we love our coffee, and decided to opt for the 'Latte Magic', which consists of a scoop of your favorite flavor, in your coffee. Its like Seattle's version of a root beer float.
Needless to say it was delicious, and we are definitely going to visit again! It makes us happy that we were able to cross something off our list so soon into summer, and discover a cute little ice cream place. It is a small little shop with little seating, and it was so sunny out, that we decided to go out and sit on a bench in front of the water to enjoy our treats.
We are so excited about this coming week for two reasons! One our friend from Germany will be in town, so we will get to see her after a years time, and one of our favorite holidays, The Fourth of July! This holiday is perfect because we get to march through the parade (yes, we are in it!), and after enjoy great laughs at a barbeque, and of course end the night with a firework show! Perfection.

Be Kind

Hey Loves! F & J here!
It has been a pretty rough week for F. On Wednesday she got her brand new Kate Spade purse stolen, out of her car! Don't get us wrong, we know Kate Spade is really expensive, but we work really hard for everything we have and it was BIG splurge, and on sale! Inside it was a Kate Spade Wallet (which F has had for a while), and inside that there was gift cards, and money! We know it is all materialistic stuff, but its something she worked hard for, and for somebody to just take it, it does not seem fair! We are extremely honest people and have a hard time comprehending that somebody would just break into someones car and take something that wasn't theirs. We are not going to sugar coat this situation and say everything will be fine, and there are silver linings, because let us to be honest, this just sucks!

We really want to believe that karma will somehow come back around to whoever stole it, but right now it seems a little hard to believe in karma. When something like this happens, it really is hard to not want to blame yourself, thinking thoughts such as, 'I must of not deserved this purse' or things along those lines. In all honesty, you can't not think those things, and there is not a silver lining to it. This is not going to be a post on how to deal with it, or about what good could come from the situation, because we are all human and these things naturally will effect us.

Beyond the valuable items, F lost a lot of sentimental things as well. Such as pictures of family members, or little notes that mean more than money. These are things that cannot be replaced, and make the situation much harder to accept.

Even though the situation is tough, it's something you can't be bitter about forever, and eventually you have to move on and let it go, though we believe that if this happens, people have a right to be upset. Just remember how important it is to be nice to people, because its worth more than any purse could be. Unfortunately it can happen to anybody, and we know F was not the first person (or last!) that has to go through this. We hope that this is last time we have to experience this, and we will have a lot more empathy for other people who this has or will happen to.

The motto of this story would be: Always Be Kind.

Summer Nights

Hi loves F & J here,

We've had a great weekend. We got to soak up the sun and we finally made it to a farmers market! We even caught up on the first episode of this season of The Fosters (we know we posted about how excited we were but we had work!).

Today Ed's album, Multiply, came out. Needless to say we're in love. That man is a musical genius! There's not a single song on the album that's not amazing. We highly suggest running out right now and picking up his album. Preferably the deluxe edition. It has 5 extra songs!!!! (We got ours at Target)

Tonight we got to stargaze at the beach. It's one of our favorite places to escape. It's so peaceful and quiet and beautiful.

It's just been a crazy week, both F & J got new summer schedules and it's been a bit hard getting together to blog, but don't worry we will post as much as we can!

There won't be a Travel Tuesday tomorrow but we promise to have a blog to you by the end of the week!

Travel Tuesday: Disney

Hey Loves, F & J here!

Everyone knows how magical Disney is, and that's why on this Travel Tuesday want to travel around the world and visit all the Disney Resorts. We have been to Disneyland California, and absolutely loved it, we even got to go together in high school for a choir field trip. J has even been to Disney World in Florida! But, these are not the only two Disney parks out there, and that is why we want to make it to all of them eventually.

There is so much Disney left that we haven't seen and we want to make sure we see it all, because we LOVE Disney magic! There is no denying that when you are in a Disney Park there is a sort of enchantment in the atmosphere! There are a total of 6 Disney Parks and we want to make sure we see them all!
Disneyland Resort, California
Walt Disney World Resort, Florida
Hong Kong Disney Land Resort

Disneyland Paris
Shanghai Disney Resort - To open late 2015
These are the current Disney Parks that we want to visit, even if we have already been to some! Even though the Shanghai Disney Resort is not open, we are more than excited to add it our list. The more Disney the better! There is no denying we are Disney girls, and we are not ashamed!

Staying Healthy

Hey Loves F & J here!
We are all about being healthy, but we know how hard it is this time of the year. There are lots of temptations, from barbeque's, to carnivals, and all the ice cream! So we thought we'd share our tips on how we try and keep healthy during the summer months. Regardless of your reasons, keeping yourself healthy is always important and should be a priority.
Because the weather is typically really nice in the summer going for a walk is always pleasant. It doesn't matter your speed just keeping active and moving will lead you in the right direction. If you live within a mile or so of where you going, try walking. It will take more time but you are getting a mini workout and getting to soak up some vitamin D (don't forget to wear sunscreen!). If you live near a beach or park, it's always nice and relaxing to take a stroll, by yourself or with a friend.
In terms of food, we never want you to sacrifice eating what you want. Even the worst of snacks are okay to eat, but in moderation. Some things we do, because there is at least two of us, is we always split treats, so we get the taste, but not overindulge. We also pass on things, that don't take away from what we are craving, such as, if we want a burger, or hot dog, we pass on the bun, and sometimes replace it with a lettuce bun. You could also skip on cheese, if that's something you won't miss. When it comes to sweets such as ice cream or cake, we like to load them up with toppings of fruit, such as berries, so we feel more satisfied with our servings and don't go back for seconds.
We also make sure to keep hydrated with lots of water, so we don't feel hungry from our thirst. It's also really good for your skin, and replenishes nutrients lost in sweat. We also like drinking water with electrolytes in it, such as Smart Water, to make sure our bodies have what they need. There are a lot of cold drinks this time of year, like slushies, that become extremely appealing because of the heat, but they are loaded in sugar. We are not saying never have a slushie, but maybe not 5. We opt for ice teas a lot, because it is really good for you, and a lot of places that sell tea, have healthier sweetening options. We also find them when we go to farmers markets, and we don't have to go out of our way to get a hold of some. Also if you carry a water bottle with you, you will be less likely to want to pick up another drink.
If you have any questions on staying healthy feel free to ask, but remember we are not health experts by any means.  We just wanted to share our tips and what works for us. Let us know how you stay healthy, we would love to hear! If you want a good music playlist for a workout, click here.

Travel Tuesday : Sea of Stars

Hi loves! F & J here!

Today we are taking Travel Tuesday to the magical Vaadhoo Islands, in the Maldives. Many people may not have heard about this place, but it is truly stunning! The part that captivates us the most is the Sea of Stars.
As you can see, it is almost unbelievable that such an extraordinary phenomenon can happen within nature. It seems like it would be technology that creates it but really the lights that you see are created from microscopic organisms called Bioluminescent Phytoplankton. Isn't nature amazing!
The island as a whole is beautiful in the day time too! It is a great place for a honeymoon or romantic getaway.
We want to see the Sea of Stars in person at least once in our lives and we think that everyone else deserves to see such beauty too!
The language spoken is Dhivehi and to say I love in this language you would say Aharen, Kalaa-Dheke Loabi-Vameve.

Treat Yourself

Hey Loves F & J here!
It's Monday, which means the start of a new week. We came across this quote and thought what better day to talk about it. We have a clean slate at the beginning of the week, and if we keep this in mind it will make this week better. With summer starting soon, we were thinking we all could keep this quote in mind. In our lives especially it is very easy to forget to do something for ourselves and find ourselves caught up in life, and we know we could be so much more positive. It doesn't matter if it is big or small everyone needs to do something for themselves every once in a while. We all deserve it. One way we are putting this in to play, is we are making a summer to-do list, with things we have always wanted to do, within reason. For example our list has things such as: Visiting that cute ice cream shop on the waterfront, or learning how to perfectly create macarons, it could be anything big or small. We would love to hear what's on your summer to-do list so please comment below and let us know!

We hope the rest of your week is as beautiful as you are.

Love,

 F & J

Travel Tuesday: Germany

Hey Loves! F & J here!
Hallo! Greetings from dear old Hamburg, Germany! Well, we may still be in Seattle, but it's Travel Tuesday and we are going across the Atlantic to reach our next destination! This destination is really special to us because we have an wunderbar friend who lives here! We have yet to go in real life, but from the stories she tells it sounds BEAUTIFUL! We met her in high school while she was an exchange student, and soon became best friends with her, and we still keep in touch! She's actually coming to visit us in Seattle in July and we are really looking forward to it! We dedicate this Travel Tuesday to her!
From what we heard we would love to visit during the holiday season. Christmastime is as special in Hamburg as it is for us.
We really think it's cute how they call Christmas lights 'fairy lights' and we have caught on to this habit as well. No matter where you are, when fairy lights are shining at night it makes everything so much more special.
In Hamburg, they have a Christmas Market, that seems to cover all the basics of a good Christmas and more! They have old-fashioned carousels, parades, and Santa can be seen flying high above the city every night! It's something we want to experience so bad.
Hamburg is not only pretty during the holidays, but the rest of the year as well. There is a breathtakingly gorgeous park and garden called the Planten Un Blomen. We could spend the afternoon here basking in it's splendor. The fountain in the park lights up, it would be quite a sight to see at night!
For as long as we can remember, we both like to collect how to say 'I Love You' in as many languages as possible, so we thought we would add it to our Travel Tuesday. In German you would say,  "Ich Liebe Dich" We can't help you too much with pronunciation, but Google Translate is a good place to start.
Auf Wiedersehen, that is all we have for this Travel Tuesday!
Love (or should we say Liebe),

F & J
